| How do I suggest that a record be added to the Halton Community Services Database? |

Please note that the Halton Community Services Database is a collection of information about human services available to residents of Halton Region. Included are services that provide basic subsistance and survival (food, clothing, shelter) and related support services (emergency assistance, financial assistance, physical and mental health assistance). For a detailed description of the Halton Community Services Database and the range of services that it represents please see our Terms of Use policy. We ask that you please review the Terms of Use policy before suggesting a new record. To suggest a new record please complete the record suggestion form here. Your suggestion will be reviewed and we will contact you with our decision.

| How do I suggest changes to a record in the Halton Community Services Database? |

Please locate the record that requires changes by searching or browsing and find the Suggest an Update link near the top of the record (just below the organization name). Clicking the Suggest an Update link will bring you to the update page for that record: please follow the instructions on that page. Please note that the suggested changes will not take effect immediately but will be reflected in the record once the suggestion has been processed by our staff.

| How do I use the Halton Community Services Database? |

You can search the Database as you would search using Google or Yahoo. Click the Search link at the top of the page and enter the name of the service, program, or organization in the box labelled Find. You can narrow the results by specifying the community in which you are located by using the boxes labelled Limit To. If you don't know the name of the service, program, or organization that you are looking for you can also browse the Database. Browsing allows you to narrow your search by subject area: click the Browse link at the top of the page and then click on one of the Service Categories to see its sub-categories. Click the View Programs and Services link to see all of the services under that Service Category.

| Where do you get your information? |
|
All of the information in our database is gathered directly from the respective organizations. We contact all of these organizations on an annual basis to verify the accuracy of the information. If we are unable to verify the information the record is removed. These procedures are in accordance with the AIRS Standards.
